The third round of Oswego Kartway’s championship trail continues on Friday with a Memorial Day Weekend special event featuring extra distance mains for all divisions.A total of 92 drivers have scored points after the first two events of the season, with 20 different drivers having pulled into victory lane at the “Bullring.”
Like the days of old, Russ Brown and Mike Bond are once again locked at the top of the Pathfinder Bank SBS “Road to the Championship” standings at Oswego Speedway. Despite neither scoring a victory in the Speedway’s first two SBS events of the year, Brown and Bond are separated by only five markers at the top of the standings.

By Pat Ward’s standards 2013 hasn’t gotten off to the start he wanted. On top of that, on Friday night at the Brewerton Speedway, Ward had the fastest car and in the lead on the final lap when second place Ryan Bartlett who lost his brakes, got into Ward taking both out of contention for the win.

Authorities are searching for the cause of Thursday’s fire in Granby. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire on County Route 8 near Cedarwood Drive shortly after 5 p.m. There were no reports of any injuries.
On Thursday, the Oswego Fire Department units along with Animal Control personnel responded to a report of a deer stranded on the rock wall in the center of the river. Fire Department personnel responded in the fire/rescue boat and carefully eased the deer to shore to awaiting animal control personnel.
