Oswego Man Facing Rape Charges

OSWEGO, NY – On 11/8/12 at 3:40 p.m., Dayne Robert Cory, 54, of 631 Middle Road, Oswego, was arrested for Rape, 2nd degree and Criminal Sex Act, 2nd degree, both class D felonies.

The arrest stems from the investigation into incidents that occurred in the months of November and December 2003 and January 2004 at a town of Scriba residence when he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse along with mouth to vagina/penis contact with the victim being less than 15 years of age at the time.

Mr. Cory was arraigned before Hon. Judge Adkins and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $10,000/$20,000 cash/bond.

He is to return to court on Nov. 15.

Spring 2013 Tutor Class Graduation

Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County is proud to announce that its latest tutor classes graduated on May 6. Some have already started tutoring Oswego County adults. LVOC tutors complete an orientation and 9 hours of training which includes how to teach adults basic literacy skills.

Sandra Scott Travels: The best place to see North Korea

As part of our DMZ tour we went to Dora Observatory where it is supposed to be the best place to see North Korea. First we had to go through a security checkpoint. We were told to bring our passports but no one checked them probably because the only non-military vehicles allowed are the designated buses which transport tourists from the nearby Imjingak Park into the secured area.
