Salvation Army Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner

OSWEGO, NY – The Salvation Army of Oswego County is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m.

It will be served at the Salvation Army of Oswego County Citadel,     73 W. Second St., Oswego.

A traditional Thanksgiving dinner is provided at no cost to the community

For more information, please contact majors James and Kathryn Purvis at 343-6491.

A reminder: The traditional Red Kettle campaign kicks off locally on Black Friday at many store and mall locations in your community.

This is The Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser and provides funding for the corps’ programs and services all year long.

The famous Christmas fundraising campaign raises money through Christmas Eve.

National Retail Federation statistics show that last year 212 million Americans shopped on Black Friday, spending a total of $52.4 billion through the holiday weekend.

The Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraiser raised $142 million last year. If every Black Friday shopper would donate just $1 to a Red Kettle, The Salvation Army would increase donations by 50 percent.
