Positively Parish News – Week of 11-21-2012

Did you know that there is a round and square dancing at the Parish Volunteer Fire Station just about every Saturday from 6-10 p.m.?

It is hosted by members of a Country Club.

The cost is $3 a person or just $5 per couple. Snacks may be brought in to share.

The club supplies coffee, tea and water.

All are welcome to come and kick up your heels or just come to listen to the music.

New Hope Presbyterian Church is preparing the basement of the annex for future zumba classes.

That’s right, in the near future zumba classes will be offered at an affordable price on Monday evenings with Tammy.

Now that is something to look forward to, keep watch for further updates.

Don’t miss the APW Alumni Men’s Basketball Classic on Dec. 1 at 1 p.m.

The Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Tree Lighting event on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Parish Memorial Park followed by activities at the Mills and Petrie Memorial Gymnasium, 2938 E. Main St.

polar plungeOn Dec. 2 I have committed to Freezin’ for a Reason for the athletes of Special Olympics New York by taking a chilly dip at Oneida Shores.

I have set a personal fundraising goal of $100.

The Parish Public Library will host its annual Community Open House on Dec. 8 from 1-4 p.m.

Santa will make his visit at 2 p.m.

There will be great refreshments served.

All are welcome.
