Frances Amelia Williamson Leppert, 92

FULTON, NY – Frances Amelia Williamson Leppert, 92, a longtime resident of Fulton, passed away Wednesday February 6, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Mrs. Leppert was born on July 21, 1920, in Hannibal to the late William and Doris Williamson.

Following Mrs. Leppert’s graduation from Fulton High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Frederick.

In earlier years they lived in Rochester, NY, before returning to Fulton where together they owned and operated Leppert Machine Tool Company, Fulton, for 50 years.

Mrs. Leppert was an avid volunteer in her community by participating in fund raising for various charities and causes.

She was always campaigning for her favorite candidate, managing a booth at the city’s yearly Cracker Barrel Fair and working as a member of the Fulton Woman’s Club.

Mrs. Leppert spent many years volunteering at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton, and served five years as its president.

She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Leppert is survived by her husband, Frederick John Leppert; two daughters,  Sandra (William) Wing of Bluffton, SC, and Cheryl (Robert) McCall of Cutchogue, NY; her 2 sisters,  Barbara Dunn of Fulton and Avis Wooding of California; four grandchildren, Beau, Freddy, Kristin and Robert; six great-grandchildren, Karl, Jessica, William, Christopher, Amanda and Robert III; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson.

Burial will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Calling hours will be conducted 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

The family has requested that contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation 411 West Kirkpatrick St. Syracuse, NY 13204-1361, www.alzfdn.org.

Rudy’s Lakeside and Family Fun at June 8 Ride for Ramps Event

Motorcyclists can take part in a four-hour scenic ride through the North Country, runners can participate in a 5K run, and kids can pedal their bikes for a cause around Fort Ontario.
