Frances E. Barbera, 85, 09/092007

OSWEGO, NY – Frances E. Barbera, 85, a resident of 131 W. First St., Oswego, died Sunday evening Sept. 9, 2007, in St. Luke Health Services, after a long illness, with her family.

She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (DeSantis) Pauldine.

Obit Frances E. BarberaMrs. Barbera worked for many years as a sales clerk for Endicott Johnson Shoes and Vona Shoes.

Aunt Fan, as she was known to friends and relatives, also worked in the Candy Works and the Onondaga County Courthouse.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed traveling with the Golden Age Group and bingo.

Fran was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed pleasing others with her cooking and baking.

Mrs. Barbera was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Barbera, in 1977.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Sara) Barbera of Oswego; daughter, Kathleen (Jeff) Chester of Monticello, NY; sisters, Rose Destefano of Syracuse and Delores Miceli of Oswego; her four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev, James Cesta.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
