Deadline Nearing For Zonta Scholarship Applications

OSWEGO, NY – The deadline for  the Zonta Club’s Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship is February 28.

This year, the award has been increased to $1,000 and is being given in honor of Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Trexler was the recipient of Zonta’s 2012 Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award.

Eligible applicants for the YWPA Scholarship include women age 16-19 who are living or studying in Oswego County at the time of application.

The recipient of the local scholarship will be eligible for an opportunity to earn another $1,000 from the Zonta District.

From the district winners, five international recipients will be selected.
