UPDATED WITH NEW PHOTOS.  SEE BELOW.

Fire tore through a Fulton machine shop Saturday night, destroying the business.

The fire at Pathfinder Industries, at 117 N. Third St., was reported to 911 just before 10:00 p.m. The fire had a head start on firefighters, who had to fight it from the outside of the facility only.

Firefighters from several volunteer agencies came to the city to help fight the blaze.  Oswego’s city fire department sent its aerial ladder truck as well.

Firefighters spent the night at the site and remained there Sunday morning to put out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Pathfinder is a third-generation, family-owned business.  It began, according to its website, in 1971 and is now run by two granddaughters of the founder.

The company makes sheet metal and machine parts.  An undated photo on its website shows 22 people standing beneath the company name.
