OSWEGO, NY – Gary L. Illingworth, 69, a resident of Crestwood Drive, passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2013, at his home.
Born in Sackets Harbor, he was the son of the late Floyd Ilingworth and Ethel (Rehor) Kymer of Oswego.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School and SUNY Oswego and had attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
Mr. Illingworth was a 20-year veteran of the New York Air National Guard.
He was an accomplished musician who was involved in the music industry for many years.
Surviving besides his mother, are his wife of 47 years, the former Jan Hampton; two daughters, Heather Illingworth of New Paltz and Sarah Illingworth of Denver.
He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
There are no calling hours.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Gary and I were classmates at OHS (61) and were good friends back then. Sorry to hear of his passing.
My sincere condolences to Gary’s family. When Gary visited his grandmother on West Fourth Street, it was always a treat. The Martin brothers, Gary, and I used to play (and sometimes fight) together.
