Author Shares the Story of Her Sister’s Abduction

FULTON, NY – The CNY Arts Center of Fulton announces its next Author’s Spotlight, a monthly program that introduces local writers and their recently published works to the community.

On June 19 at 7 p.m., author Lisa Buske will offer a presentation and reading from her book, Where’s Heidi?, One Sister’s Journey.

On April 3, 1994, Ms. Buske’s sister, Heidi M. Allen, was kidnapped from a convenience store in Scriba.

She was never seen or heard from again. Where’s Heidi? invites readers to join the author on a journey no one ever expects to take – a journey through abduction and the loss of hope, family, and faith.

“My husband, Ed; daughter, Mary; and my parents were not only family, but also a support network,” Lisa explained. “My faith in God and dedication to my family motivates and inspires me to do and be the best woman, wife, mother, and sister I can be. The journey between April 3, 1994, and today has been a long, challenging, and ever-changing rollercoaster ride. I would give anything to have my sister back, yet I recognize I am a different, stronger, and redesigned person because of the loss experienced after Heidi disappeared.”

The Author’s Spotlight program will feature Lisa’s readings from her book, a discussion about how she was able to write it, and a question and answer period.

Following the program, those in attendance can meet with the author and purchase a signed copy of her book.

There is no cost to attend the program and refreshments will be served.

It will be held at the CNY Arts Center, located at 357 State St., Fulton.
