Casting Complete for Oswego Players’ ‘The Fantastics’

OSWEGO – Casting is complete for Oswego Players’ third production of its 80th anniversary season, the musical comedy “The Fantastics.”

The Fantastics was written by Harvey Schmidt with lyrics by Tom Jones.

The show tells an allegorical tale of two neighbors who try to trick their children into falling in love by pretending to feud.

The New York production of The Fantastics ran off Broadway for 42 years making it the longest running musical in history.

The Oswego Players’ production of the play features Liam Fitzpatrick and Taylor Peck as the young lovers, Matt and Luisa; Christopher James and Keith Arlington, as the conniving fathers, Hucklebee and Bellamy; Bob Brown, as the mysterious El Gallo; Roy Van Noustrand and Terry Greene, as Henry and Mortimer; and Shannon Thompkins, as the Mute.

The show will be directed by Oswego Players’ President Emeritas Inez Manor Parker, with Abel Searor as music director and Carol Dufrane as stage manager.

Production staff also includes light designer Tom Fazzio and set designer Ken Snow.

Tammy Wilkinson is the show’s producer.

“The Fantastics” is scheduled to be performed on July 7, 13, 14 at 8 p.m. and July 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. at the Frances Marion Brown Theater.

All seats for the show are $18.
