On 10/28/09 at 2:02 p.m., Stacy L. Kasten, 26, of 3690 CR 57, Apt. D, Fulton, NY, was ticketed for Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance and Operation While Registration Suspended, following a traffic stop on CR 9 in the Town of Volney. She is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Volney Court on 11/16/09.

On 10/29/09 at 12:58 p.m., Jeffrey B. Knudtson, 40, of 20 Birch Lane, Apt. A, Oswego, NY, was arrested based on a Fugitive From Justice Warrant issued by the Pierce County Sheriff’s office in the State of Washington charging him with Rape of a Child, First Degree. A joint investigation with the Puyallup Police Department in the State of Washington revealed Mr. Knudtson allegedly had sexual intercourse with a female, who was six years old at the time, in the Pierce County area during the year 1999. Mr. Knudtson was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear before Oswego County Court on 10/30/09.

On 10/29/09 at 6:26 p.m., Vell K. Smithers, 35, of 579 Biddlecum Road, Fulton, NY, was arrested at the Jamesville Penitentiary in Onondaga County based on a warrant issued by Town of Scriba Court charging him with Obstructing Governmental Administration, Second Degree. Mr. Smithers was arraigned before the Hon. Douglas Crouse, Town of Scriba Court, and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on 12/10/09. Mr. Smithers was processed and returned to the Jamesville Penitentiary.

On 10/29/09 at 1:56 p.m., Margaret K. Perry, 21, of 213 Ridge Rd., Oswego, NY was operating a 2007 Chevrolet south on SR 48 in the Town of Granby when the vehicle reportedly veered of the west side of the roadway, struck a culvert and a retaining wall before flipping onto it’s passenger side, sliding down the roadway and ended in the ditch. Ms. Perry was transported by ambulance to Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse. Driver inattention and animal action seem to have been contributing factors.
