    Edward Elsner

The Oswego Public Library welcomes its new librarian, Edward Elsner to its staff. Elsner received his MSLS from the University of Kentucky and a BSME from Kettering University of Flint, Michigan. Elsner has over 10 years of library experience from Michigan and Kentucky which includes the automation of 6 libraries.

In 2004, Elsner established a library consulting firm to assist rural libraries in training their staff in technology, library automation, customer service and marketing. He developed a unique library classification system for WATCH (Women Acting Together for Change) while on a working holiday in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has published several articles in professional journals regarding library services.

Elsner comes to Oswego with his wife Zuni and their two children ages 7 and 1. He looks forward to living in Oswego and becoming an active participant of the community.

    1. This guy looks very nice and is certainly well accomplished, but didn’t we have anybody locally qualified for this job? It’s hard to get the exact same experience as he has living here. This is why there are no jobs for people from town and why they have to move away.

Despite this I’m sure he’ll do a great job and be an asset to the community.
