Jan W. Louis, 67

OSWEGO, NY – Jan W. Louis, 67, a resident of the Oswego area, passed away on Sunday March 3, 2019, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Drew and Betty (Van Deusen) Louis and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

He was employed by Papertronics, Miller Brewing Company and Birdseye Foods.

Jan was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing and clock dial restoration.

Jan is survived by his son, Jeremy (Wendy) Louis of Tampa; a daughter, Bobbi Jo (Melissa) Louis of Oswego; the love of his life and wife of many years, Julie Louis.

Also, two sisters, Connie Avery of Central Square and Laurie Fellows of Fulton; two brothers, Michael (Marie) Louis of Fulton and Jeff Louis of Syracuse; three grandsons, Sammy Mays, Max Mays and Gavin Louis; his longtime companion, Greta Amico, her three daughters, Cindee, Jenny and Joanne and seven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister, Toni Pelkey Clark; and his brother, George Louis.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. with a service to follow the hours.

Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
