The Stage Is Set, The Lights Are Ready, The Action Begins

OSWEGO – “Snow White and the Queen of Mean” is not the story your parents learned when they were growing up.

Nope, this one is way different.

Oh many of the same characters are there.

Snow White has her usual challenges with the mean step-mother and there is a kindly king of course.

A huntsman is sent on his way to complete a dastardly deed.

And a handsome Prince comes along and catches Snow White’s attention.

But somehow this timely version of that famous Grimm Brother’s fairytale takes a funny twist of turns as this lively updated version unfolds on the Frances Marion Brown stage in the Civic Arts Center March 8 at 8 p.m. and March 9 and 10 at 2 p.m.

Oh and how could we forget to mention those little little people that take Snow White in and protect her.

And wait until you see the magic mirror work its magic.

And the ending you have to come and see for yourself. It’s a surprise you will love.

Matt Fleming, artistic director for the Theater Arts Youth Academy, and his group of aspiring thespians have all been working with great enthusiasm these past few weeks to put together this fun-filled one-act play they are hoping will welcome a whole host of theater-goers this weekend.

So bring the little one and enjoy some family time experiencing the magic of live theater.
