Community Members Aid OCO March for Meals Program

FULTON, NY – Lunch time! Community volunteers donated their time in support of Oswego County Opportunities’ March for Meals campaign.

Preparing lunch at the OCO Dining and Activity center in Central Square are from left Mayor Ken Sherman, volunteer Joyce Farrell, Nutrition Services Program Manager Allison Griffin, and OCO Deputy Executive Director Patrick Waite.

Held in conjunction with Meals on Wheels of America, the OCO March for Meals campaign works to raise the awareness of senior hunger in Oswego County.

As part of Community Champions Week elected officials, business leaders, and community members participated in delivering meals to homebound Meals on Wheels participants, preparing meals for delivery in OCO’s kitchen, and serving meals at OCO’s six Dining and Activity Centers.

OCO’s Meals on Wheels program delivers more than 1,000 meals each day to seniors through its homebound meal delivery and its Dining and Activity centers in Fulton, Hannibal, Mexico, Parish, Phoenix, and Central Square.

OCO Nutrition Services programs are partially supported through grants from OCO partners: Oswego County Office for the Aging; New York State Office for the Aging; and the United Way of Greater Oswego, Inc.
