Husband – Wife Team Return To Stage To Discover ‘What the Rabbi Saw’

OSWEGO – Local favorites Nelson and Sherri Metz bring their passion for theatre and each other to the Oswego Players’ latest production of “What the Rabbi Saw” featuring Nelson as Mr. Kirchenbaum, father of the bride and Sherri portraying his long-suffering wife, Edie, mother of the bride in this everything goes wrong wedding day farce.

Long-time members of the Oswego Players, they have worked on countless productions in a variety of capacities.

As directors or actors, this couple has devoted countless hours to the Francis Marion Brown Theater.

Nelson and Sherri are honored and thrilled to be invited to participate in this hilarious, fun-filled theater production.

This promises to be a fun night for everyone.

“I love working with the Players. They’re always two steps ahead and anticipate your every need. You need it, they’ll get it. You need it done, they’ll get it done. I’m so excited to be a part of this company and I am certain this farcical romp will be a huge success!” Sherri said.

Nelson has directed numerous shows including Lost in Yonkers, The Director and Don’t Dress for Dinner.

Nelson said, “Love the process, love the performance.”

Sherri had spent 10 years doing musicals with the Red Creek Community Players and has worked with the Oswego Players for many years.

“I have recently taken a bigger interest in the director’s chair and look forward to the opportunity to direct again in the near future” she said.

In addition to live theater Nelson enjoys work as a youth employment specialist with Oswego County’s Workforce New York office.

He is also active in the community with local Elks Lodge #271.

Sherri Metz

Sherri spends her time off stage as member service representative with Compass Federal Credit Union and at the First United Methodist Church of Oswego as choir director – organist.
