CNY Community Arts Center Announces Spring Schedule and Recruitment

FULTON – With the opening of the new Community Arts Center the first classes and events are being scheduled for the public as a recruitment campaign is launched for teachers and volunteers.

The Arts Center’s mission is to provide art programming for all arts and all ages and is pleased to announce sessions for writers, musicians and crochet enthusiasts to start alongside opportunities to staff the center for regular hours.

“We have some classes ready to go and looking to get more on the schedule, as well as recruit volunteers to host the facility during open hours in a variety of ways and times,” said Executive Director Nancy Fox. “We can finally begin to offer some of the classes folks have asked for plus so much more is planned. We have opportunities for groups to meet and exchange their music or writing, and classes to expand on those talents or learn new skills, plus an exciting new group for ages 4-8 years old.”

“And now that we are ready to open, we are recruiting artist teachers for any art we can accommodate and fit into the schedule,” Fox continued, “as well as those artists who might like to mentor in our youth program or get some hands-on experience in a variety of ways. We are also recruiting volunteers who can staff the front desk for a few hours or an evening, give tours of the center, help folks sign up for classes and maybe even do a few administrative tasks.”

Writers are invited to attend Writer’s Café, an informal free group that typically meets the last Sunday of each month, while guitarists are invited to Song Circle, a similar informal free group that meets every other Wednesday.

Both groups are designed for attendees to share their music or writing with each other in a positive supportive environment.
