Both Farfaglia and Republican candidate Deana Michaels filed Independence Party petitions, but it was Farfaglia who got the Independence nod.

The Independence Party’s backing of Farfaglia is especially significant as he is the only Democrat in Oswego County to earn their support this year.

“I’m proud of my Independence Party support because the Independence Party is especially known to support candidates who can look past party labels and govern with common sense,” said Farfaglia who ran successfully for re-election to the County Legislature in 2017 with Independence Party backing.

Farfaglia also has the backing of the Working Families Party and he pointed to his deep roots in the community in expressing his gratitude for their endorsement.

“It means a lot to me personally to have the support of the Working Families Party. I’m a descendant of generations of Fulton’s working families. From North End Paper Mill to Sealright (Hutamaki) and Nestles, my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were a part of Fulton’s workforce that helped make our community a great place to live and work,” he said.
