Joseph L. Pospesel, 67

Joseph L. Pospesel, 67, a resident of 111 West Schuyler St., Oswego, passed away, Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at the Manor at Seneca Hill.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of Walter (Irene) Pospesel and Anita Daniels-Pratt.

Joe was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam.

He was employed as a Furnace Operator at Alcan for many years.

Joe enjoyed hunting, photography and gardening. He was a member of the Oswego Elks Lodge 271, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, American Legion Post 268 and the Oswego West Side VFW 2320.

Surviving besides his parents are a daughter, Tammie (Donald) Vosseller of Oswego; a son, Joseph C. Pospesel who is stationed at Ft. Richardson, Alaska; two brothers, Karl Pospesel of Colin, NY and Kirk (Kira) Pospesel of Palenville, NY; one sister, Glenda Falise of Oswego; four grandchildren, Tyler Vosseller, Tiffani Vosseller, Brooklyn Pospesel and Dakota “Cody” Pospesel; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 7312O or Friends of Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.

What’s New 2010 at Enchanted Forest Water Safari

The Curse of the Silverback, the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari’s newest water ride, which debuted in 2009, is expected to continue to draw visitors with its unique purple and black appeal and daring silverback theme.  Riders experience a 100 foot drop into a large 40-ft diameter bowl where they circle the bowl dropping out the middle into the splash pool below.
