Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann announced that the NYS Parole Board will once again be considering parole for William LeVea.
LeVea killed Christopher Spack in a violent DWI crash on the evening of November 20, 2009.
LeVea had chased and rammed Spack’s truck many times before sending it into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, resulting Spack’s vehicle being torn apart.
The NYS Parole Board will close the comments from the public in about one week (May 3).
Anyone wishing to submit their objections, observations and/or a statement in opposition to this killer’s release letters must be submit them by May 3.

The family of Chris Spack will have their opportunity to meet in person with a Parole Board member to give their testimony in June.
Levea will see the Parole Board at Fishkill Correctional Facility in July.
We would greatly appreciate any efforts from the public to make themselves heard through the email statements to the Victim Assistance Office within the next week, said Jon Budelmann, Cayuga County District Attorney.
The public has been very supportive in the past and we know they will continue to object to the release of this killer, he added.
The fact that the community considers this man to be dangerous and that he should not be released on Parole early has been a helpful factor in the past, the DA said.
LeVea had been denied a Medical Parole after hearings in 2014, in November 2015 and in July 2016.
In July of 2015 and in July 2017 he was denied Parole at his regularly scheduled semi-annual parole hearings.
This is his third attempt at Parole at a semi-annual hearing.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
William LeVea, now 88 years old, was convicted of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, for the November 20, 2009 death of Christopher Spack in a high-speed drunk driving crash when the then 79-year-old LeVea repeatedly rammed Christopher Spack’s truck until he sent Spack’s truck spinning into the path of a Chevy Silverado driven by Bradley Leyburn, of Cato, who was seriously injured in the crash.
16-year-old Patrick Walton and a teenaged passenger in his vehicle were also involved in the collision, but escaped without serious injury.
Prior to chasing and repeatedly ramming Spack’s vehicle, LeVea had rammed into another innocent driver, who managed to pull into a business and escape the drunken and reckless LeVea.
Chris Spack was on the phone with 911 begging for police assistance when LeVea killed him.
LeVea was sentenced to 6-18 years in Prison in Cayuga County Court March 2, 2011.
Any and all support from the public in voicing your opinions to keep this killer in prison will be greatly appreciated by the family of Chris Spack, who go through unspeakable grief and trauma every time this man faces a parole hearing where there is a risk he will get out before serving the maximum time allowed by law, the DA said.
The public needs to be protected from this dangerous individual for as long as possible. We hope the Parole Board will continue to take that fact seriously when they meet once again regarding this killer, he added.
