Greater Fulton Area of Christian Churches To Hold Community Thanksgiving Worship

Nov 17, 2009 at 8:05 am

On Sunday, November 22nd at 7:00pm at the First United Methodist Church , across from the Fulton Junior High School on State Route 176, the Greater Fulton Area of Christian Churches invites the community to the annual community Thanksgiving worship service.

Choirs, Musical Ensembles, Instrumentalists, Bell Choirs, Soloists and liturgical dancers from many churches will accompany area Clergy for an evening of song and praise. “The entire community is encouraged to come and join with others as we prepare for these holy days which begin with the traditional Thanksgiving celebration and leads us to the season of Advent and Christmas”, said a Council representative.

“This is a multi-denominational worship experience as we invite any and all faiths to gather together and give thanks and witness solidarity as brothers and sisters”, said Pastor Mark Kimpland, the host of the event. “In times such as these, we need these experiences to call us together and witness to the world the spirit of gratitude, grace and love”, he concluded.

Even though there is ample parking, the Council is encouraging people to arrive early as this event is very well attended each year. They also encourage people to come with non perishable food items that will be collected that evening and given to several area food pantries along with a love offering. The church and sanctuary is also handicapped accessible and offers listening assistance devices if needed.

You are encouraged to call 592-7347 if there are specific questions regarding this celebration or if directions are needed. For further information, please visit www.fultonfumc.org.
