Sheriff’s Office, 12/23/09

On 12/22/09, Steven M. Mellen, 47, of 308 Walradt St., Fulton, NY, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on SR 48 in the Town of Minetto at 6:22 a.m. when he lost control at the intersection of Community Drive. The truck veered to the right and struck a parked trailer that was behind a parked 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck registered to Thomas A. Marsalo, of PO Box 56, Minetto, NY. The impact caused Mr. Mellen’s truck to continue on and strike the 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck that was attached to the trailer, then continued southbound striking a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Carl C. Allen, 86, of 53 CR 31, Oswego, that was stopped at the stop sign. The incident appears to have been the result of Mr. Mellen falling asleep at the wheel. He was ticketed for Moved from Lane Unsafely.

On 12/22/09 at 4:50 p.m., a 17 year old male residing in the Town of Hannibal was arrested for Sexual Misconduct and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both class A misdemeanors, following the investigation of an incident that occurred at his residence during November, 2009, when he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 17. The youth was arraigned before the Hon. Eugene Hafner, Town of Hannibal Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 1/26/10. A Stay-Away Order of Protection was also issued by the Court.

On 12/23/09 at 12:25 a.m., Joseph G. Pasiak, 62, of 5617 SR 104, Oswego, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Town of Scriba Court charging him with Violation of Probation. Mr. Pasiak was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 1/07/10.
