SUNY Oswego Faculty to Perform Chamber Works Featuring Clarinet

OSWEGO — Clarinetist Trevor Jorgensen of SUNY Oswego’s music department will collaborate with colleagues Robert Auler on piano and Kristen Jorgensen on flute in “Playing Favorites,” a recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, in the auditorium of the college’s Campus Center, Room 118.

Their performance is the next in the SUNY Oswego music department’s Faculty Artist Series. It will feature well-known works by eminent composers for clarinet and piano, including Johannes Brahms’ first sonata, Robert Schumann’s “fantasy pieces” and Francis Poulenc’s sonata.

“These standard works from the chamber music literature have endured time and grown to become known as ‘favorites’ for one simple reason — they are gorgeous pieces of music,” Jorgensen said.

Flute and clarinet duets by American composer Robert Muczynski and Brazilian Heitor Villa-Lobos will round out the program. missing or outdated ad config
