Lanigan Students Learn About Dental Health

In light of Children’s Dental Health Month, Lanigan Elementary School students in kindergarten, first and second grades including Mrs. Marie Mathes’ class pictured above are learning about the steps they can take to have healthy teeth for life. Dental hygienist Nancy Negus, left, and marketing coordinator Claudia Murray from Callahan, Flanagan and Smith, an orthodontist practice in the Fulton community presented an informative program on many areas of oral care including proper brushing and flossing; eating healthy foods and limiting sugary and sweet snacks; the dangers and effects from smoking; the importance of mouth guards when participating in athletic activities as wells as the steps to take in the event of a dental emergency.

The Curse of the Silverback, the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari’s newest water ride, which debuted in 2009, is expected to continue to draw visitors with its unique purple and black appeal and daring silverback theme. Riders experience a 100 foot drop into a large 40-ft diameter bowl where they circle the bowl dropping out the middle into the splash pool below.
