OSWEGO, NY – Mary T. Ravas, 93, a resident of 150 E. First St., passed away on Monday July 19, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Proud) Woods.

She was a graduate of Oswego High School and graduated as a R.N. from the Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, class of 1945.

Mary was employed as a nurse for 35 years, including 19 years at the operating room at Oswego Hospital.

Mrs. Ravas was a member of the American Legion #268 Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed golfing.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Edward) Goodness of Lycoming and Sharon (Joseph) Spencer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, James (Peggy) Walsh of Port Angeles, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Ravas, in 1980.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
