OSWEGO, NY -At approximately 6:10 a.m. on March 15, during the course of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in the city of Oswego, members of the Oswego City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division observed a white Chevrolet motor vehicle in the area of 212 W. Third St.
A marked patrol unit was requested and upon its arrival behind the suspect vehicle, the driver began to drive erratically, consistent with an attempt to evade the marked patrol unit.
A traffic stop was initiated and further investigation found one of the passengers in the vehicle, identified as Daishaun J. McMullin, 19, of 134 Annette St., Syracuse, to allegedly be in possession of approximately 50 pieces of crack cocaine, which appeared to be packaged for individual sale.
Based on information developed in the course of the investigation, McMullin is believed to be associated with a criminal organization known as the “1500” gang in Syracuse.
McMullin was taken into custody and transported to the Oswego City Police Department where he was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony and fourth-degree criminal possession of narcotic drug, a class C felony.
He was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.
He is to appear in court on March 22.
