Bucs Capture Festival Of Lights Bowling Tournament

Oswego captures the tournament crown.

OSWEGO, NY – For the third consecutive year, the Oswego High School Buccaneer bowling team headed to the Festival of Lights Tournament in Buffalo to compete at the Thruway Lanes.

This time – they returned with the crown!

Oswego out rolled 31 other teams to capture the tournament crown.

Representing the Bucs were Coach Bob Hoefer, Jim Rose, Cameron Byrne, Gavin Gilbert, Joey Clavelli, Zach Delbrocco, Matt Clemons and Dan Cliff.

It was “A Very Nice” Average Spring

A worker mows the grass in the parking area across from Oswego Speedway at sunset one warm spring day.Summer arrives at 1:04 a.m. on Friday. It leaves behind a rather average spring. The average temperature was nearly 2 degrees warmer than average. While the area has been stymied recently by heavy rainfall, for the spring the total was 2.22 inches below average.

Lanigan student rallies his school to help a family in need

Lanigan Elementary School fourth grade student Noah Horning is pictured with his classroom teacher Shannon Higgins, left, school-home liaison Tammy Sheldon, and a portion of the items that students and staff at his school donated for a collection he organized to support a family in his neighborhood that lost their home to a fire earlier this year.Lanigan Elementary School fourth grade student Noah Horning watched as seven fire departments worked to save his neighbor’s home earlier this year. The family escaped the fire safely, but lost everything. Noah knew there was something he could do to help the family and he knew just who could help him – the students and staff at his school.
