OSWEGO, NY – Newly-elected Oswego County Legislature Chairman Fred C. Beardsley (District 9, Central Square) recently presented his state of the county address to the County Legislature.
He announced that the generic tax rate for Oswego County has decreased by 25 percent since 2005 and discussed efforts to protect local services and relieve county taxpayers of the burden of New York State mandates.
Chairman Beardsley also provided updates on many successful initiatives such as the Oswego County Green Team projects that will reduce annual energy costs by nearly $200,000 and decrease the production of more than 1,000 tons of greenhouse gases each year.
