United Way board member Jim Mahoney has announced that the plans are set for the United Way’s Annual ‘Stone Soup’ Holiday Luncheon.

Hannibal Village Market IGA is sponsoring the 12th annual Senior Citizens’ Christmas Luncheon to be held on December 8th, 2009, at the Hannibal Fire Department’s Recreation Hall.

The Oswego High School Softball Club is holding its 17th annual Oswego Logo Apparel Sale now through November 30.

The All County Band, Chorus and Orchestra gathered in Phoenix on Nov. 6-7.

Saturday, December 5th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Craft table set-up from 8 to 10 AM (pre-registration required). Serving BBQ chicken from 11 AM til sold out. Handicapped accessible.

Emma Donath, in the Toddler Room at Discovery Day Care, is using her Sensory Skill to feel the inside of the pumpkin. She was able to pull the seeds out and explore the “squishy” and “wet” feeling of the inside of the pumpkin.

The Fulton Rotarians gave her a warm welcome, especially when she announced the presence of a Chamber of Commerce office in Fulton after the absence of a local Chamber of several years.

The toy soldier brigade will have the greenhouse looking especially festive for the children, and the child in all of us to experience. The 10-foot tall poinsettia tree will of course be filled with all of the vibrant poinsettia colors. “It’s fun to see many of our customers take their holiday photo in front of our tree-it’s become a holiday tradition. And remember, poinsettias are safe for everyone.” says Cindy Paine.

The Econo Lodge of Oswego, NY and the Merton R. Kemp Jr Detachment 651 of the Marine Corps League are joining up with the United States Marine Corps Reserve to help the 2009 Toys For Tots Campaign.

When I was a child, I could memorize things in a heartbeat. I was one of the best spellers. I learned all my basic math facts by heart without blinking an eye. I could remember names, addresses and details of events with great speed and accuracy. Alas, as I approach the big 6-0 birthday, I see all of this memory prowess fading away.
