The project brings a massive ballroom, in-house restaurant and high-tech audiovisual equipment to Oswego. The project, overseen by hotel owner Shane Broadwell, has been in the works since the loss of their Captain’s Steak and Seafood restaurant in a fire in 2006.
It’s the middle of May and for many college students that means graduating and heading into the real world. To me, it doesn’t feel remotely possible that my four-year career is coming to an end. It feels like just yesterday I was moving to campus, nervous yet excited about college and all it brings.
Oswego’s sixth annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser was held Thursday in the food court of SUNY Oswego’s Campus Center.The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
Mayor Tom Gillen presented a certification of appreciation to the members of the Oswego Fire Department at Tuesday night’s council meeting. Chief Jeff McCrobie and five firefighters were recognized for rescuing Aaron Matthews after he had been swept off the breakwall into Lake Ontario on Feb. 6.
