Street Name Change Honors Native Americans Influence On Oswego
At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved a request by city resident Mike Goldych that the city change the name of Canal View Drive to Onondaga Street. According to Goldych, by renaming the street it will reflect how the Onondagas connected the other nations – Cayugas, Senecas, Oneidas and Mohawks.

Date Change Announced For School Board Meeting
The next Oswego City School District Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. The superintendent of schools will present his proposed 2011-2012 budget to the board and community.

“Due to my work commitment, commencing on Monday (March 14) and continuing for approximately five weeks, it will be necessary to change my posted hours that I will be present in the mayor’s office to all day on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or by appointment,” Mayor Randy Bateman said.

Traffic Pattern Change Noted In Fulton
The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting motorists in the city of Fulton to a new traffic pattern and signal installation in the westbound direction of Route 3 at the intersection of Route 48, immediately west of the bridge over the Oswego River.

Council Considers Zone Change
A public hearing is tentatively planned for next month. If approved, the zone change would allow developers to build 32 duplexes on 16 lots in the Seventh Ward. The asking price for the duplexes – $199,000 each.
