United Way Community Investment Committee Seeks Volunteers

The United Way of Greater Oswego County would like to invite community members to be part of the agency’s program funding process by participating as a volunteer member of the United Way’s Community Investment Committee.

The project would include a 450-seat conference facility, three smaller ‘breakout’ conference rooms, 18 luxury hotel suites, a 100-seat waterfront restaurant and expanded wellness spa. It is planned for construction on East First Street.

The councilors approved a special request to allow a memorial celebration in honor of Rosemary Nesbitt to be held in Breitbeck Park. The committee sent other requests to the full council to be considered.



Committee Revisits Fire Department’s Vehicle Request

The Administrative Services Committee recommends approving the sale of an old OFD vehicle. If there is enough funds to purchase a new vehicle after that, the council will consider that possibility in the future.

The story of the play concerns four affluent couples who gather for a dinner party celebrating their host’s tenth wedding anniversary. So, The Players plan to allow the audience to participate in the anniversary celebration by inviting patrons to attend a wine, and cheese, party before the curtain and sampling a anniversary cake at intermission.
