Oswego County DA to Oversee Criminal Case Following Fatal Syracuse Hit and Run Accident
Oswego County District Attorney Greg Oakes will oversee the criminal case against former investigator for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office, 37-year-old Peter J. Rauch of Liverpool after he struck an 18-year-old man with his vehicle and fled the scene on Tuesday (March 21) at 1:30 a.m. The victim, Seth M. Collier, was immediately taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition upon admittance, however, Syracuse Police have since confirmed that Collier succumbed to his injuries at 3:36 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
NYS Police Provide Information on Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash
New York State Police have released information regarding a fatal three-vehicle accident on NYS Route 481. Onondaga County 911 received a call around 11 a.m. today (Nov 7) reporting a small, dark colored sedan traveling northbound on NYS Route 481 when it “crossed over into the center median, across the southbound lanes and into the brush on the west side of the highway. Witnesses then reported the vehicle began to back up through the brush and begin to drive north in the southbound lanes,” the press release said.
Triple Fatal Accident on NYS Route 481
Multiple departments are currently responding to a fatal three-car accident on State Route 481. The accident is reportedly the result of one vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane resulting in a head on collision involving three vehicles.
Deputies Probe Fatal Crash In Granby
No charges have been filed at this time in the crash that killed a 46-year-old man and sent another to the hospital Thursday night. The accident remains under investigation.
Levea Sentenced To 6 – 18 Years For 2009 Fatal Crash
William Levea will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. The 80-year-old Fulton man was sentenced today in Cayuga County Court to 6 to 18 years in prison. He was initially charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 20, 2009, drunk driving accident that claimed the life of Christopher Spack, 41.
Authorities Deem Fatal Scriba Fire ‘Accidental’
The preliminary cause of Wednesday night’s fatal fire has been determined to be accidental – during the food preparation in Apartment B. A 25-year-old man died in the blaze.
