Historic Flag Of The Four Freedoms To Fly At Fort Ontario

The historically significant Flag of the Four Freedoms will fly at Fort Ontario State Historic Site in celebration of Flag Day and the 80th anniversary of United Nations Week in Oswego. It will be hoisted beneath the national flag from Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14 through Monday, June 19.

Flag Day Observed At Historic Fort Ontario

A group of students helps the Elks display six of the flags of our nation.

The British Flag was lowered and the American Flag was raised over historic Fort Ontario as a large audience, mostly elementary students, learned about the history of the flag and the fort, too.

Leighton School Observes Flag Day

The entire student body turned out Monday morning to salute the flag. Special guests at the program were John Canale and members of Oswego’s Battle of the Bulge organization.

Ceremonies Mark Flag Day At Fort Ontario

In commemoration of Flag Day, a display of the many flags that have flown over Fort Ontario and the United States will be exhibited and explained by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271. More than 250 school children will be at the old fort on June 14 at 10 a.m.
