Hannibal came together this past weekend for Winterfest, a weekend of outdoors activities designed to make the best of the harshest weather of the year. Lots of folks showed up for a variety of contests, food and music.

Kathleen G. Carley, 77, of Hannibal, died Friday, at Oswego Hospital.
When the weather outside turns frightful, the people of Hannibal go outdoors. Hannibal Winterfest takes place this weekend at Kenney Middle School and the Hannibal Municipal Building next door. Human dogsled races, as you see in the photo above, are only part of the fun. There are lots of outdoor events and indoor events for those who need a break from the weather. The Hannibal High School weight room will be open to Hannibal School District residents on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm beginning January 26.

Karen G. Taylor, 63, a resident of the Rathburn Road in the town of Hannibal, NY, died Thursday Jan. 21, 2010, at her home.
At a recent meeting of the Oswego County Magistrates Association(OCMA), New York State Magistrates Association (NYSMA) President Edward G. Van Der Water, made an official appearance to honor the Hon. Luther J. Dennison, Town Justice, Town ofHannibal.
