Oswego High School was visited by numerous characters on Friday as some students enjoyed the Halloween season.

Each year WCNY-TV hosts a high school academic quiz show “Double Down” and once again Oswego High School is represented on the roster of 32 schools vying for honors.

Authorities are continuing to investigate two bomb scares at Oswego schools. Last week, there was a threat at Oswego Middle School. On Tuesday, the high school as well as the middle school was disrupted by bomb threats.

Patricia Oughterson, of Oswego, was appointed principal effective today (Sept. 16). She is the second female principal in the history of OHS.

More than 300 incoming Oswego High School freshmen will breathe a little easier on Wednesday 9 when they arrive for the first day of classes. On Sept. 3, the majority of the new first-year students visited, toured and ate at Oswego High School during the annual freshman orientation.

The Oswego boys’ varsity golf team opened its 2009 season on Thursday with a win against Utica Proctor at Oswego Country Club by a final score of 214-245.

The Oswego High School music department is pleased to present its tradition of holiday concerts to be held at in Ralph M. Faust Theatre located in Oswego High School.

Some Oswego High School students got a jump on honing their interview skills Thursday at Oswego High School’s Media Center. Dozens of local professionals volunteered to conduct mock interviews to help prepare students for college and job interviews.

The Oswego High School Drama Club is prepared to present this year’s annual fall production of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

The Fulton City School District has opted to extend an interim appointment at G. Ray Bodley High School. Michael Egan, former superintendent of schools, was appointed as interim principal of the high school in August and scheduled to serve until the end of this year. Instead, Egan has agreed to stay on at the school through the end of the 2008-09 school year.

The story of the play concerns four affluent couples who gather for a dinner party celebrating their host’s tenth wedding anniversary. So, The Players plan to allow the audience to participate in the anniversary celebration by inviting patrons to attend a wine, and cheese, party before the curtain and sampling a anniversary cake at intermission.
