HANNIBAL, NY – Jean Marie Egan Mitchell, 82, of Martville, died Friday May 4, 2012, at Oswego Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Fulton and resided in Martville since 1970, prior to that she was a military wife and traveled with her six children to wherever her husband was stationed.
She was a homemaker and was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Jean was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a wonderful cook.
She was a member of the Martville United Methodist Church.
Jean was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Slobe and Ellen Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joseph A. “Pug” Mitchell of Martville; six children, Timothy (Gail) Mitchell of Paducah, Kentucky, Gail (Walter) Lehmann of Hannibal, Jacqueline (Charles) Giancola of Manlius, Lynn McCormick of San Antonio, Texas, Matthew (Terri) Mitchell of Martville and Kathleen (Jeffrey) O’Brien of Fair Haven; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
Burial will be in Martville Cemetery.
