Recently the students were scheduled to go outside with the partners and enjoy reading. However, inclement weather forced the students inside. Hallways and classrooms were filled by students anxiously wanting to read. The sounds of the words from a variety of books filled the air.
Students at Kingsford Park Elementary School had an opportunity to celebrate the coming of the New Year one more time.
Former Oswego High School teacher David Shoemaker was back in the classroom recently.
Understanding Wildlife brought its unique program to Oswego with day time shows at Kingsford Park and Frederick Leighton elementary schools for the students. Unfortunately, the evening shows were canceled due to the severe winter weather.
Students from around the county visited KPS to read holiday letters to kindergarteners. The elementary students shared their Christmas wish lists, sang a few songs, promised to be good and leave some treats out for Santa and his reindeer.
Leah Mullen, a fifth grader at Minetto Elementary, and William Bandla, a sixth grader at Kingsford Park Elementary, won top honors.
The annual musical was recently presented on stage at Oswego High School’s Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts as the singers, dancers, actors and actresses from Kingsford Park presented “The Wizard of Oz.â€
