Oswego High School girls’ varsity basketball players invaded the Frederick Leighton Elementary School recently.

About 20 parents of Leighton students plead with the school board not to close the school. That is just one option the district is looking at if the Education Center is sold, the board of education said. No decision is going to be made on this for a long time, they said. Much more discussion is likely and public input is encouraged, they added.
Frederick Leighton Elementary School second graders recently read their newly created writing work to kindergarten students.
A group of residents, led by Judi Kenefic, has been working behind the scenes for several years to put a new playground in place. Tuesday, the group made its plans public.
The wooden playground built in 1991 is falling apart, Kenefic said. “There’s very few pieces left and what’s there is not safe. Neighbors won’t go there anymore because it’s in disrepair and dirty.”
Frederick Leighton Elementary School was represented by several students at the recent all-county music festival.
The weather might be getting cooler, but that didn’t stop students from the Frederick Leighton Elementary School from beautifying their grounds.

There was a writer’s celebration in the second grade classroom of Michelle McManus at Frederick Leighton Elementary School.
The Fulton District Wide Storytelling Festival was held and storytellers from throughout the district showcased their talents in telling a wide variety of stories.
