Once again the Oswego Public Library will be participating in Warm Up Oswego with a used book sale. This year the sale will be run by the Oswego High School Interact Club.

Women of all ages are invited to attend a very special Women’s Health Fair. Scheduled for Feb. 13, the event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Oswego Public Library, 120 E. Second St., from noon to 3 p.m.

A pair of workshops is planned for Wednesday afternoon and evening. One deals with commercial properties and the other with residential.

An official of the Fulton Public Library came to last week’s public hearing of the Fulton Common Council to warn that without an increase in its budget, the library would have to cut hours and lay off a worker.

Aldermen approved the budget without changes, leaving its contribution to the library at the same level as in the last budget. They did not mention the library’s request nor respond to the official, beyond thanking her for her comment.

Thursday, the library’s board of trustees voted to cut its hours and lay off one member of the staff.

Your tax dollars have been hard at work adding new books on compact disc to the Oswego Public Library collection. In the last two months over 100 CD audio books have made their first bow on the shelves. “We had to move the audio book collection to a new area on the main floor,” said Librarian Edward Elsner. “There were simply too many titles for where we had them shelved.”

Come join the fun as we celebrate the holidays. Children will have the chance to sing songs with Betty Moshier and make crafts. Refreshments will be served. The highlight of the festivities will be a visit from Santa!

Fulton Public Library will be having a Book Fair at Barnes and Noble on Sunday, December 6th from 9 am to 9 pm, on Route 31 in Clay. Are you not sure of what to buy a loved one for the holidays? Come and get some Christmas shopping done and help support the library. Book Fair vouchers are available to pick up at the library.
