Representatives from Oswego County Opportunities’ Residential Services Department recently traveled to Albany to participate in the annual legislation day sponsored by the New York State Association of Community and Residential Agencies.

OCO’s Fulton School Mentoring Program and its participants were recently recognized by the city of Fulton.

Oswego County Opportunities will be promoting healthy eating at the annual “Warm Up Oswego” on Feb. 6.

The Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County, administered through OCO, encourages county residents to take advantage of free cancer screenings.

In an effort to raise the awareness of their services and encourage Oswego County residents to receive the cancer screenings they need, Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership is giving away a 22” flat screen television.

Oswego County Head Start Preschool will be holding an Open Enrollment Day on Thursday, January 28th from 10 am to 2 pm. Head Start is a preschool program for 3- and 4-year-old children with the primary goal of promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children. The program includes nutritious meals and snacks, encourages parent involvement, and family support.

On April 10, Oswego County Opportunities will host its ninth annual Bowl-A-Fun at Lakeview Lanes.

In the past 13 years the available mentoring programs in the Fulton School District have flourished thanks to the collaborative efforts of OCO, Catholic Charities of Oswego County and the Fulton Community Task Force.

Trinity Engle, program services coordinator with Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Services Division, announced that Eileen Bartlett has been named manager of OCO’s Dining and Activity Center for seniors in Fulton.

The Fulton District Wide Storytelling Festival was held and storytellers from throughout the district showcased their talents in telling a wide variety of stories.
