Phoenix Firefighter Arrested After Gas Is Taken From Fire Station

Matthew J. Fratello, 25, of 22 Maplehurst Dr., Phoenix was charged by Phoenix village police with two misdemeanors: petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. He was released on an appearance ticket and has resigned from the fire department.

Fulton Wins Canastota Wrestling Tourney; Phoenix Close In Second

Fulton won just one match in the finals of the Canastota tournament this past weekend, but the team’s overall performance was good enough to make it the team winner.  Phoenix, bolstered by several strong performances in the finals, was a very close second.  See a gallery of photos contributed by wrestling parent Michele Earl.



Teachers “Plunge for the Pantry”

For the second year, volunteers from the Phoenix Central School Teacher’s Association will “Plunge for the Pantry” on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The courageous PCSTA members will jump in the frigid waters of the Oswego River at North Island in Phoenix at 1:00 p.m. The “jumpers” have acquired monetary sponsors to back them in order to raise money for the Phoenix Food Pantry.

Making Music in Phoenix I Head Start Program

The children in Phoenix 1 Head Start Program at Discovery Day Care were showing off their talent by playing different musical instruments and were singing along with “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”  In the photo from left to right is:  Lucian Sullivan, Kenny Doria, Aiyannah and Donnivan Bukowski. The story of the play concerns four affluent couples who gather for a dinner party celebrating their host’s tenth wedding anniversary. So, The Players plan to allow the audience to participate in the anniversary celebration by inviting patrons to attend a wine, and cheese, party before the curtain and sampling a anniversary cake at intermission.
