Knapp Joins Step One Creative As Fall Semester Marketing Intern

Oswego, NY - Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, has announced that Myia Knapp, of Oswego, New York, has joined the agency as a fall semester marketing intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.

 

Knapp, a senior marketing major at SUNY Oswego, will assist Step One with numerous client-related projects, as well as internal marketing initiatives.

“Step One Creative has provided me with a great opportunity to gain first hand experience in the field of marketing, while applying my knowledge and skills obtained from SUNY Oswego,” said Knapp.

In addition to the internship at Step One Creative, Knapp is an active member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) SUNY Oswego Chapter.  The AMA is nationally recognized and devoted to the practice, study, and teaching of marketing.

“We look forward to Knapp assisting our team with a variety of projects this semester,” said Stepien. “She is active within the SUNY Oswego community with regard to her marketing degree, and we believe the experience she will garner from our agency will complement that knowledge.”

Ryan Joins Step One Creative As Fall Semester Public Relations Intern

Oswego, NY - Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, has announced that Megan Ryan, of Albany, New York, has joined the agency as a fall semester public relations intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.

 

Ryan, a junior public relations major with a journalism concentration at SUNY Oswego, will assist Step One with numerous event-related projects, along with other public relations initiatives.

“Step One Creative has given me the opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of public relations, while exercising my current knowledge of public relations acquired at SUNY Oswego,” said Ryan.

In addition to the internship at Step One Creative, Ryan was a summer intern with the marketing company, University Directories.

“With her previous public relations knowledge and writing skills, we look forward to Ryan joining our team at Step One Creative and taking part in our various on-going projects,” said Stepien. “We enjoy offering our interns hands-on experience that will increase their knowledge and skills in order to make that next step into their chosen career path.”

Crist Joins Step One Creative As Summer Advertising Intern

Oswego, NY - Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, has announced that
Emily Crist, of Oswego, has joined the agency as a summer advertising intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.

Crist is a senior communications major with an advertising concentration at
Le Moyne College, in Syracuse.

In addition to the internship with Step One Creative, Crist is also the Production/ Layout Editor for the Dolphin, the student based newspaper for the student body of Le Moyne College.

“This internship with Step One Creative has presented me with an incredible opportunity to gain real world experience, and practice my personal and acquired skills in advertising, graphic design and marketing,” said Crist. “The combined curriculum and coursework from Le Moyne, and the knowledge that I will gain over the course of this internship will be a great base for my future career in advertising.”

While at Step One Creative, Crist will assist in multiple client-related marketing projects and fundraising events that are taking place over the summer.

Oswego Little League To Hold Annual Spaghetti Dinner And Registration

OSWEGO, NY – Batter up! The 2011 baseball season for Oswego Little League is kicking off with the Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Player Registration to be held at the Oswego Elks Lodge on Feb. 15, from 5 to 9 p.m.

“We’re looking forward to the 56th season of Oswego Little League Baseball,” said Tim Murphy, president of Oswego Little League. “And, we hope our young players and their families will come out on February 15th to become a part of a wonderful tradition.”

According to Murphy, Oswego Little League offers seven divisions of organized youth baseball for all boys and girls, ages 5 through 16, including the Challenger Division, for players with special needs. Registration fees vary for each division: Challenger: $30, T-Ball/A: $40, AA: $60, AAA/Majors: $80, Jr/Sr: $90.  These fees are valid until March 1st.

Children residing within the boundaries of the Oswego City School District are eligible to register with Oswego Little League. Registrants are required to provide proof of age, verification of residence inside the League’s boundary, and provide a signed copy of the Medical Release form.

Volunteer forms are also available. Oswego Little League currently has a need for many new volunteers, to fill several positions of need. Managers, coaches and team parents are needed. League volunteers are also needed for concession, field maintenance, scorekeepers, and umpires.

The required forms and instructions are available now at www.oswegolittleleague.com, and may be filled out in advance, or at the registration tables on February 15th.

Spaghetti dinners will be available for eat in or take out. Dinners are priced at $8.00 for adults, and $6.00 for a child. Delivery of dinners may be arranged for groups that have to work that evening.  Pre-sale tickets are available from any Board Member.

There will be an additional opportunity to register in person on Saturday, February 19th, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, at the Oswego YMCA Armory Building.

Oswego Little League is a fun and safe environment for your children to learn and play baseball. Register by March 1st to reserve a roster spot.

Miele Joins Step One Creative As Spring Semester Public Relations Intern

Miele, a junior year economics major at SUNY Oswego, will assist Step One with various event related projects, as well as ongoing public relations initiatives.

“With his writing and public relations skills we’re excited to have David join us as an intern at Step One,” said Stepien. “We look forward to having him assist us on a variety of new projects throughout the spring, and helping him build his potential within the profession.”

In addition to his internship at Step One Creative, Miele is the Public Relations Student Supervisor for SUNY Oswego’s Campus Recreation Department, where he helps manage all public relations initiatives.

“Step One Creative has presented me with a fantastic opportunity to gain real world experience in the fields of public relations and marketing,” said Miele. “Applying the theories and practices that I have learned in my classes to work-related scenarios will be a great way to build a foundation for my future career in marketing.”

Having developed an interest in advertising and marketing during high school, Miele now aspires to enter the field of product marketing upon graduation.

McNamara, a junior public relations student at SUNY Fredonia, will assist Step One with various public relations and research projects during the winter session.
McNamara looks forward to be pursuing a career in fashion public relations.

Pike Joins Step One Creative As Fall Public Relations Intern

Pike, a recent broadcasting and mass communication graduate of SUNY Oswego, will assist Step One with various event related projects, as well as ongoing public relation initiatives.

In addition to her internship at Step One Creative, Pike was a member of the student run television station at SUNY Oswego, WTOP, reporting on various sporting events, news and helping to promote campus events. Pike also ran for the women’s cross country and track and field teams at Oswego.

Harborfest, Step One Creative Expand Partnership

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Harbor Festivals announced that Oswego-based marketing firm Step One Creative has been contracted to assist Harborfest in the procurement of festival sponsorships and business memberships.

Step One Creative will assume responsibility of renewing and building a majority of existing sponsorships and business memberships while at the same time, developing and maintaining new Harborfest clients.

“The board of directors and I felt that instead of trying to find the perfect person to coordinate sponsorships and memberships, why not bring on a professional agency experienced in event planning and familiar with our festival,” said Harborfest Executive Director Tom Van Schaack. “We have an existing relationship with Shane (Stepien) and his staff, and are excited and fortunate that Step One Creative was willing to expand their involvement with Harborfest.”
