Students and staff wind up Catholic School Week celebration with ‘millionaire’ competition and a volleyball game that pitted the sixth grade against the faculty and staff. Ironiclly, the school’s sledding party was cancelled due to a lack of snow.

Sunday marks the start of Catholic Schools Week. Trinity, Oswego County’s sole Catholic school, has several events lined up for next week.

The youngsters and their guests enjoy a holiday meal with all the trimmings. The students’ grandparents and special friends were the guests of honor at Oswego County’s only Catholic school. The annual event is designed to honor everyone who helps the school and its students throughout the year, according to David Friedlander, principal.

Mimi’s Drive-In won the 10th annual Trinity Catholic School Corporate Spelling Bee. The friendly competition helps support Oswego County’s only Catholic school. Eleven three-member teams took part in the fund-raiser, which featured some of the hardest words in its history.

Anne Powers Riley, 96, a resident of 74 E. Oneida St., Oswego, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at St. Luke Health Services, after a short illness.

Perennial champ Fulton Savings Bank returns to the top in friendly competition to help support Oswego’s Trinity Catholic School. Eight three-member teams took part in the fund-raiser for the county’s sole Catholic school.

It was one of the largest crowds ever for the annual event. The principal says the turnout shows the huge increase in support for the county’s only Catholic school.

Trinity Catholic School is planning its annual craft show. The event will be held on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the basement of St. Paul’s Church, on the corner of East Fourth and Mohawk streets in Oswego.

Youngsters take part in graduation ceremony, looking forward to coming back in the fall as kindergarteners.
