OHS Wrestler Pins Down Crown

Shane Bartrum captured the Class AA 189 crown on the mat during the weekend while the number one hockey team in the state was nearly upset by the Bucs and the girls’ basketball and boys’ bowling teams swept their foes. Meanwhile, the boys’ varsity cagers lost and the girls’ jayvee five picked up a nail-biting win.



Fulton Takes Class A Wrestling Crown

Fulton is again the class of Class A, sweeping to a solid victory in the Section III Class A meet this past weekend in Fulton.

Oswego State Wrestling Falls To Brockport 33-12

Photo courtesy SUNY Oswego.Eric Leusch (Sr., Rochester, N.Y.) recorded his 20th win of the season at 285 pounds, but it would not be enough as the Oswego State wrestling team fell to Brockport 33-12 in a dual meet on Wednesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

Wrestling Room To Be Dedicated To Elmer Akley

Oswego legendary wrestling coach Elmer Akley will be recognized in a special ceremony on Monday (Jan. 25) at Oswego Middle School. On Monday, the wrestling room, where he spent numerous years of his life, will be dedicated to the former coach.

Fulton Wins Canastota Wrestling Tourney; Phoenix Close In Second
