Apollo Z. Avery was born in Oswego Hospital on Nov. 13, 2012.

He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.

He is the son of Atom Z. and Falecia C. Avery, of Oswego.

A new minor in illustration promises to provide SUNY Oswego art majors and students across disciplines with a strong foundation in a skillset that art department chair Cynthia Clabough says is enjoying resurgence in demand. “Illustration is re-emerging as a contemporary communication form,” she said. “It is a bridge between the fine arts and the applied arts.”

Deadly Motorcycle Crash Reported in New Haven

Oswego County 911 received the call early Sunday morning regarding the crash. Emergency crews responded to State Route 104B and County Route 1 at about 6:15 a.m. Sheriff’s investigators are continuing to probe the cause of the accident. No further details were available Sunday.

Third Annual ‘Ladies Rule the Range’ Right On Target

100 energetic women packed into Pathfinder Fish and Game Club recently to test their aim with multiple different firearms. The third annual Ladies Rule the Range event saw great success and reached the desired goal, 100 participants. Starting out with 50 women in its first year, the event grew into its second year with 81 women participating. With more than 40 instructors, the ladies were very actively and accurately briefed on the handling of seven separate stations of firearms.
