Doppler radar indicated a band of heavy lake effect rain over central Oswego County. Doppler radar estimates that up to 3 inches of rain has fallen overnight along the route 104 corridor from Oswego and Scriba east through Mexico.

With all the exciting things to see at each year’s New York State Fair, it’s often hard for fairgoers to decide what to do in the little time they have. There are still many free concerts and more to be enjoyed in the coming days of the fair.

A participant’s abrupt exit from a public meeting typically is a statement in and of itself. It remains that it can be subject to diverse interpretation. I want to clarify reasons for my precipitous exit from the Aug. 24 Board of Education meeting.

Sue Colussy retired this week from Catholic Charities’ Catholic Legal Services in Atlanta. For a quarter century, the Oswego County native’s been building a non-profit legal service for the poor.

Nearly everything that is supposed to be ready for the opening of school in Fulton will be ready, officials say.
The district is in the midst of a pair of construction projects involving every building. Most of the work is saved for the summer break, putting crews on tight schedules to have work completed by the opening of school in September.

The motto of the Oswego Community Neighborhood Watch Program is “We look out for each other.” It’s just that simple, according to coordinator Betty Gray. “Neighborhood Watch and caring for our citizens, neighborhoods and community is everyone’s responsibility to help our city prosper and return to safety for all,” she said

The Oswego Lady Bucs volleyball team started the defense of their league title with a 25-12, 25-8, 25-14 win over Auburn. The girls are 1-0 in the league play and 1-0 overall.
