OSWEGO, NY – Jeff McCrobie was officially sworn in Wednesday afternoon as the Port City’s Fire Chief.
Mayor Randy Bateman announced McCrobie’s appointment on June 24.
Donald T. Dowd II replaced McCrobie as First Assistant Fire Chief. He was also sworn in on Wednesday in the ceremony held at City Hall.

So did a Harborfest vendor who was in his vehicle in the church’s parking lot when the debris began to tumble. Officials say the collapse was probably caused by previous water damage over the last decade combined with the recent heavy rains.

The Curse of the Silverback, the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari’s newest water ride, which debuted in 2009, is expected to continue to draw visitors with its unique purple and black appeal and daring silverback theme. Riders experience a 100 foot drop into a large 40-ft diameter bowl where they circle the bowl dropping out the middle into the splash pool below.
The Oswego High School Class of 2011 is prepared to begin its march toward June 25 graduation exercises at the SUNY Oswego Campus Center. However, the members of the Class of 2010 have made their mark and are moving to their next life step.
