Hannibal Ninth Graders Set SMART Goals

A collaboration between Literacy Consultant Auddie Mastroleo and Hannibal ELA Teacher Michael Cook brought about an initiative for students to set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time sensitive) goals in relation to both their personal aspirations and independent reading.

Red Cross Maintains Oswego Shelter

The shelter opened by the American Red Cross at Laker Hall on the campus of SUNY Oswego Wednesday night will remain open at least through Sunday, the Red Cross announced today. The Red Cross opened the shelter for City of Oswego residents who are without water because of frozen water lines in several neighborhoods. Red Cross volunteers are at the shelter with cots, blankets, food, drinks and personal hygiene items for residents who need a warm place to stay or other necessities.

Grant To SUNY Oswego Aims To Reduce Obesity In Children In U.S., Abroad

SUNY Oswego recently earned a highly competitive grant from 100,000 Strong in the Americas to train students here and in Brazil to implement a health-and-wellness program to fight childhood obesity in both countries.

SUNY Oswego To Host, Professor To Co-Edit Metascience Journal

With the appointment of SUNY Oswego philosophy professor K. Brad Wray as co-editor, the journal Metascience now calls the college its headquarters. A noted scholar in the philosophy of science, Wray has begun a five-year term as co-editor with Australian scholar Luciano Boschiero.
